A - Baracades. Should the enemy ever find the main entry to the underground (the only entry big enough to allow more than one person to enter at once), these wooden barriers can be slid into place to delay the attackers and allow citizens to escape by other routes.
B - Guard station, storage for weapons/medical supplies.
